5 reasons you need to go to UTSoC’s End of Semester Party

UTSoC’s End of Semester Party is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to not only support Twenty10, but have a blast while doing it. Tayla Curry discovers.

Have you ever been to a Wonderland Festival? The second your foot crosses the ticketing line, your senses are immediately sated with all the colours of the rainbow. It’s like you’re in a trance – one that you don’t wish to end.

UTS students and beyond have the opportunity to experience this and more on Friday 8 June 2018, at The Underground UTS. From 6.30pm onwards, guests will be treated to the ultimate indoor festival experience – including fairy floss, glow-in-the-dark paint, and a silent disco – just to name a few of the fabulous touches of fun.

If you have not yet bought your ticket to this not-to-be-missed event (blasphemy! Click this link to rectify it), here’s five reasons why you should be there.

1.  You’ll get to celebrate the end of semester, UTSoC-style

They say that you don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone, and attending the End of Semester Party is not an opportunity you want to take for granted. So buy your ticket, or alternatively, sit at home and watch those wild Snapchat stories … it’s up to you.

2.  It’s an opportunity for you to procrastinate – for a cause!

Yes, we are all knee-deep in assignments at the moment. But are you really going to spend your Friday night working on them anyway? Instead of sitting at home, binge watching Netflix or finding any distraction you can, come and procrastinate with us. Trust me, it’s bound to be worth it.

All profits from the night will be going to Twenty10. This organisation provides a range of services to young people in the LGBT+ community, including housing, mental health, counselling and social support. So your procrastination will really be for a good cause!

3.  Cement those friendships away from the lecture theatre

Have you met new friends this semester, but you’re worried that you are not going to see them after your weekly classes together stop? UTSoC’s End of Semester Party is the perfect opportunity to cement these friendships away from the lecture theatre. A simple “Hey, want to come to UTSoC’s End of Semester Party with me?” could change your relationship entirely.

4.  Free drinks

Free drinks. A bar tab. Do I need to say more?

5.  There will be body paint

If I have still somehow not managed to convince you entirely, this is certain to get you there. Read these words very carefully: glow-in-the-dark body paint. Yes, you are reading this correctly. Glow-in-the-dark body paint. Some for me, some for you, some (a lot) for your Instagram grid.

Now stop overthinking it, click on this link and buy your ticket, and I’ll be sure to see you there.
