Haikus to my stressed-out self

Our high school teachers always warned us that university would be hard. They warned us that it wouldn’t just be an academic shift, but a shift in our sense of self and the way we see the world around us. At least, I think they did. I honestly don’t remember. I’ve had six coffees today. Wait, did I have a reading?

I once was so young

For I had not yet felt the pain

Of a group project.

Uni’s fun and games

Till you find yourself drinking

Just to do your work.

I’m already late

Yet I still must face my foe:

South Concourse Tunnel.

Haven’t been this stressed

Since Matty J dumped Tara

On the Bachelor.

Now it’s 3am

And yet here I am watching

More Ru Paul’s Drag Race.
