Hello Summerfest!

You’ve got all the biggies; Splendour in the Grass, Laneway, FOMO, Falls, Lost Paradise and... oh yeah, Summerfest 2019!

Summerfest is moving to UTS’ The Underground this year, but make no mistake, it’s sure to be bigger and better than ever.

It wouldn’t be the start of another year without this iconic event and like any good festival, they’ve got a killer line-up. Aussie rapper Allday’s headlining the festival with his easy, breezy, catch as heck tunes.

We’ve got Paces dropping some punchy electronic beats on The Underground, too, and Sydney pop goddess Kota Banks is set to play too. As if that isn’t enough, hip hop and dance aficionado Ebony Boadu is slated to take the stage.

Even your music taste is a little more alty than us uncultured masses, we have something for you. Local UTS legends Treadmilz and L.K. Liam are ready and waiting to spin some tunes, fresh from their 2018 DJ Comp success.

If we’re lucky, the UTS HipHop Society might even pop their funky heads in and treat us to some freestyle. This community is renowned around uni for their crowd-hyping-capabilities, so get ready to go off at their dance cypher tunes.

Sydney rock band The Factory have been described by Rolling Stone as “the best thing to come out of Sydney since Daryl Braithwaite". Whether that’s true or not, we don’t know (it was on their Facebook page and our journo skills can only go so far), but you bet we’ll be there grooving along if their songs sound anything like Horses.

Emalia Jane is an Aussie open format DJ who, since turning 18, has played at Ivy, Rocklily, Homebar, El Topo, and more. We’re always frothing the next big house party, and honestly, that’s what we’re geeing up for with Emalia Jane’s set.

As if all these sick beatz (yes, we’re down with the kids) aren’t enough, prepare your body for the Glow Up Station! It’s exactly what it sounds like - glitter professionals, The Dazzle Dolls, ready and waiting to transform you into a shimmering sight to behold. New DP, anyone?

There will be light effects to rival vivid, games, art and food on the night. Did we mention that there’s gonna be free food?

If that doesn’t seal the deal right this second, we honestly don’t know what else to say.
