The lowdown.jpg

Not fully sold on a whole new semester at uni? Struggling to get back in the groove and getting motivated? Well, Inasha Iftekhar has you covered with a list of unmissable events for you to get back up and running, and to the end of semester in no time.

Clubs Day

Feel like you didn’t get to make the most of semester one since you didn’t make as many friends or get as involved as you’d hoped? Well fear not because Clubs Day is on its way! On August 2 2018 from 10am-2pm, UTS will be chock-a-block full with societies putting up stalls full of fun people (including yours truly) and free stuff! So get your butt down there to sign up for everything and grab all the power banks you can carry.

UTSOC Trampoline Dodgeball

If you can’t make it for all the day time excitement of Clubs Day, or find yourself dying for a little more fun, this is definitely the event for you. Two words, Trampoline. Dodgeball. Need I say more?  The UTSoC Sporting team have organised the perfect night of fun where you can comfortably embrace your inner child. So get your tickets for August 2 2018 from 6:30pm-9:00pm here and invite your friends for the dodgeball game of 2018.

Struggling with those winter blues? ActivateUTS has you covered with Winterfest; playing the best music and giving you the perfect opportunity to drink and relax before winding down for classes. The event takes place on August 10 2018 from 7pm-10pm, go get your tickets here and enjoy a night out on UTS. If you’re still not fully convinced, then stay tuned for an upcoming article dedicated to the event.

If you haven’t gotten around to seeing one of UTS Revue’s shows then this is definitely the time to do so. Taking place across four nights from August 15t18 2018 down at the Lend Lease Theatre from 7:30pm. Get ready to laugh and gasp in sheer shock as UTS Revue take you back to the students at North Shore High School in 2004 getting through their lives day by day, until 14 years later the Burn Book is leaked, shaking up their lives once more. Grab your tickets as soon as you can as it will definitely be a sold out event, costing members $17.50 and concession tickets $20.50.

UTS Interfac: Castaway Party

The biggest and best societies of UTS are coming together to give you the greatest Interfaculty party yet! Castaway brings the heat we all miss so much, with it’s summer vibes, palm trees and tropical beats. The night is being held by UTS Business Society, UTS Society of Communications, and UTS Law Students’ Society on August 9 2018 from 7pm-1am, and is also being sponsored by V Energy! So grab your sunnies and hawaiian shirts and be ready for a wild (and responsible) night out. (Grab your tickets here).

Society Balls

As the semester comes to a close everyone is looking for a way to celebrate; well, UTS societies have you sorted, with what I can only call balls galore. At this point in time however UTS LSS Ball is the only one spilling the deets, announcing that their event will take place September 28 2018 from 7pm-10pm. However, taking a sneak peek at the Comms Enchanted Ball from 2017 is enough to show you the wait will definitely be worthwhile for Comms Ball 2018, so stay tuned!

Well I hope you found a few events to your liking, and can hustle your way over to them before they’re over. Semester 2 is coming in hot and fast kids, so enjoy yourself whenever you can!
